ようこそ、闇の世界へ あらゆる出来事が科学で説明できるかのように思われている現代においても、「闇」は確かに存在します。「世界結界」の綻びが引き起こした銀の雨と、それが生み出した異形の者ども。そして、彼らに立ち向かう異能者達が築き上げた、秘密の特殊な社会。それらを総称して、「闇の世界」と呼びます。 世界結界が形成された後の時代から現代までの出来事と、それに関する考察や推測を扱ったコーナーです。投稿はこちらから。 銀誓館学園について銀誓館学園は、日本国内をはじめとして世界各地から、様々な出自の能力者を分け隔て無く受け入れている。そのため「闇の社会」においては、学園の名はそれなりに知られており、また同時に注目もされているようである。 来るべき本格的な脅威との戦いに備えて、学園は様々なやり方で能力者の確保に奔走している。中には、能力者の素質を持つ者だけが当選するように仕組まれた「くじ引き」を用いるなど、奇想天外なやり方もあるとか。 銀誓館学園以外にも、日本国内や世界各地には様々な能力者関連組織がある。それらは自己の思惑に沿って学園と様々な関係を築いており、学園の理念に賛同し積極的に協力してくれる組織もあれば、営利目的で学園と取引をしている組織、新技術の研究開発のために学園を大きな実験場と考える組織もある。中には、孤高を保ち学園とは関わらない組織や、組織のルールを破った者を学園が保護しているために、学園とは折り合いの悪い組織などもあるようだ。 銀誓館学園が、超能力などの研究施設で実験サンプルとして扱われていた能力者を生徒として迎え入れているのには、理由が二つある。一つは彼ら・彼女らにもまともな教育を受けさせ、人並みの青春を謳歌して欲しいという人道的な理由。もう一つは、様々な研究機関が長い時間と莫大な費用をかけて研究してきた技術などの成果を手に入れ、それを今後の活動に役立てるためである。 銃型の詠唱兵器や、ジョブとしてのゾンビハンターとそのアビリティは、現代戦の技能を持った能力者(※)達の戦闘技術を、そのままゴーストとの戦いに応用できるようにとの配慮から、近年になって新たに開発されたものである。 (※)…裏社会の用心棒や傭兵出身の能力者、能力者の研究・養成機関などで訓練を受けた者がこれに該当する。 ときどき、テレビで霊能者・超能力者に関する特別番組が放送される事がある。その大半は偽者だが、ごく一部には本物の能力者が関わっているものもあり、出演料を活動資金の足しにしているらしい。ちなみに、アメリカでは超能力者が犯罪捜査に協力しているというのは有名な話(本物は数少ないため、的中率は低い)。 献血センターのスタッフとして働きながら、密かに血を得ている狡猾なリビングデッドがいるらしい。
